The medical use of the hemp plant was already practiced 5000 years ago. Meanwhile, 489 essential components in the hemp plant could be determined. In addition to terpenes, flavonoids and other plant substances, the phytocannabinoids enjoy a particularly high interest. So far, 70 phytocannabinoids have been detected in the hemp plant. The best known of these are the tetrahydrocannabinols (THCs), cannabidiols (CBDs), cannabinols (CBNs) and cannabigerols (CBGs). The psychoactive or intoxicating component of cannabis is the tetrahydrocannabiol, which binds to the activity development at the CB1 or CB2 receptor (endocannabinoid sytem). The non-psychoactive ingredient cannabidiol binds to different receptor systems. CBD Therefore, it is considered as an effective, well-tolerated and above all safe component of the hemp plant and is particularly interesting for self-medication, since it can develop anti-inflammatory, antiepileptic and ant schizophrenic properties, without depressing side effects. The use of cannabidiol enjoys in the complementary area due to the positive experience reports of increasing popularity. Due to the low THC content, CBD-rich hemp is allowed to be legally cultivated. Cannabidiol occurs in higher concentrations in the upper third of the plant as well as in the flowers. After harvesting, the parts of the plant are extracted or placed in extracts for oil extraction. Particularly high quality is the CBD extracts from Co2 extraction. Due to the heat-free extraction process, the complete phytochemical spectrum and all phytocannabinoids, with the exception of THC, are retained.
HEALTH EFFECT OF THE CANNABIS PLANT
Thus, cannabidiol is a good option for all people who are only interested in the health effects of the cannabis plant, but not in its intoxicating effect.
Here are seven positive scientifically proven effects of CBD oil on our health:
Marijuana was used for pain relief as early as 2,900 BC CBD, especially in combination with THC, is very effective in relieving pain - even in severe pain, such as multiple sclerosis or arthritis
2. Anxiety disorders and depression
Mental disorders, especially anxiety disorders and depression, are very prevalent these days and unfortunately continue to gain ground. For the affected people, these diseases are usually associated with strong personal suffering. Ingestion of CBD oil alleviates anxiety disorders as well as depression, which has been demonstrated in human studies and animal studies.
3. Complaints about cancer and its treatments
CBD can also alleviate the symptoms of cancer - either from the cancer itself or from cancer treatment such as radiation or chemotherapy. Such symptoms include nausea, vomiting and pain. CBD has great potential to reduce the side effects of cancer therapies. However, the potential antitumor effect of CBD has yet to be proven in further studies to be considered safe
Acne is a common skin disease that affects up to 9% of the population. The causes of acne are many. Genetic predisposition, bacteria, inflammation of the skin and overproduction of sebum play an important role. CBD may be an effective treatment for acne because it has anti-inflammatory effects and can stop the overproduction of sebum.
5. Neurological diseases
Recent studies also show that the effect of CBD on our endocannabinoid system and the effect on other signaling pathways in our brain have the potential to help in neurological diseases. Although CBD research on neurological diseases is still in its infancy, initial results suggest that CBD may improve the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's disease.
6. Cardiovascular Diseases
Another health effect of cannabidiol is on the cardiovascular system, especially the ability to lower elevated blood pressure, Even though more studies are needed in humans, taking CBD is obviously good for our heart health by lowering blood pressure and protecting our heart.
Hemp and cannabis derivatives have been banned in the US for a long time, but that changed in April 2019 with a new agrarian law signed by Donald Trump. This law allows the cultivation and conversion of industrial hemp provided that this hemp does not contain more than 0.3% THC.
This bill was quickly implemented by all 50 states, but over time some of them began to worry and decided to slightly restrict the CBD law in their respective jurisdictions.
These refractory states are not against cannabidiol and do not prohibit it, but they added some restrictions on the use of the plant (e.g. smoking) and the hemp content (e.g. flower) used. However, most of these restriction do not apply to end consumers for farmers and hemp producers, so you do not have to worry about buying and using your favorite 5% CBD oil (without THC).
Products that contain CBD are allowed, but it is 100% prohibited to have THC in it, unless your state allows it. You need to be very careful with CBD oils as some of them are pure hemp oil (full spectrum) and contain about 0.3% THC, which is illegal (depending on where you live).
In terms of toxicology, it has been found that CBD has a relatively low toxicity. The report also noted that not all potential impacts have been investigated. Nevertheless, it was claimed that CBD seems to have no influence on embryonic development, as well as a wide range of physiological and biochemical parameters. In short, it is very unlikely that CBD has toxic effects. In essence, this means that it is safe for human consumption. In the section on side effects in humans, WHO states that people generally tolerate CBD well and that cannabinoid has a good safety profile.
Cannabidiol is very well tolerated. Side effects usually do not occur. This was also the conclusion of a meeting of the World Health Organization's Expert Committee on Drug Dependence in November 2017. Here they came to the following conclusions:
The WHO also looked at the therapeutic potential of CBD. She sees enough evidence that CBD is an effective drug for epilepsy. Also in the treatment of Alzheimer's, cancer, psychosis or Parkinson's CBD could play an important role in the future, according to the WHO.
At high dosages, fatigue is possible. Furthermore, it should be noted that CBD can lower blood pressure and in some cases may worsen sleep disorders.
1. WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS?
Cannabinoids are transformation products and synthetic analogues of some terpene phenols, which were found mainly in the hemp plant (Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indicia). Cannabinoid research has led to the discovery of the endocannabinoid system.
2. WHAT IS FULL SPECTRUM CBD OIL?
CBD oil full spectrum is different from decarboxylated or gold oil. The CBD oil full spectrum contains the full range of cannabinoids. The entourage effect states that the compositions of different cannabinoids and terpenes have an optimized effect on the body and organism.
3. WHAT’S THE ENTOURAGE EFFECT?
The Entourage Effect is the results (the effect) produced from the synergistic interaction of the cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes, and fatty acids naturally found in cannabis. Their task in the flora is to keep away predators with a bad stench, and to attract pollinators such as bees with their fragrant scents. For example, we humans take terpene as the flavor was when we bite into a juicy and perfectly ripe mango.
4. WHAT CAN CBD OIL BE USED FOR?
CBD - oil to help relieve pain such as headaches and menstrual cramps. CBD can have a positive effect on joint pain as well as headache (migraine) and menstrual pain. CBD has also been used effectively in fibromyalgia and arthritis.
